❤️ Compassion in Action at Vinnies Nerang
St Brigid’s Vinnies Conference — part of the St Vincent de Paul Society — continues to be a vital source of support for Nerang locals doing it tough.
Based at St Brigid’s Catholic School and powered by just 14 dedicated members, the Conference provides practical assistance to individuals and families experiencing hardship. From food and fuel vouchers to help with rental costs, their team works tirelessly to ensure no one in our community has to face difficult times alone.
This year’s Community Fund grant from Nerang RSL will go directly toward the purchase of food and fuel vouchers — extending the reach of this important frontline support.
We’re proud to continue backing the tireless work of Vinnies in Nerang.

🎙️ Helping Every Voice Be Heard at Country Paradise Parklands
When members of the Nerang Country Paradise Association mentioned they were struggling to hear during meetings, we listened — and acted.
This year’s support from the Nerang RSL Community Fund is helping the Association purchase a new amplifier, ensuring clear audio at gatherings and improving communication across their many community groups.
Run entirely by volunteers, the Association oversees the much-loved Country Paradise Parklands — home to more than 800 members and a wide range of groups, including the Nerang Men’s Shed, Healing Hooves, Sheila’s Shack, River Keepers, Ediblescapes, Native Plants Gold Coast and Wild About Agility.
From hosting inclusive events to maintaining shared gardens and green spaces, the Nerang Country Paradise Association brings people together in meaningful ways — and we’re proud to continue backing their efforts in 2025.

🌿 Growing Together at Nerang Country Garden Association
Set within the tranquil surrounds of Country Paradise Parklands, the Nerang Country Garden Association has blossomed into a vibrant community hub since its founding in 2012. With raised veggie plots, fruit trees and a unique Aquaponics Study Centre, the gardens now serve over 90 active members and welcome guests of all backgrounds and abilities.
It’s not just about gardening — it’s about connection. Members meet weekly to share produce, swap stories and gather around their handmade woodfired pizza oven, building community from the ground up.
This year, Nerang RSL’s Community Fund contribution is helping to purchase a defibrillator and associated safety equipment — ensuring the wellbeing of everyone who visits. It’s a practical and important addition to an inclusive space that continues to thrive.
We’ve proudly supported Nerang Country Garden Association during it’s journey — and we’re honoured to help this space continue to grow alongside its community.

🎄Backed by Community & Christmas Spirit
Each December, local families gather for Nerang Celebrates Christmas — a festive afternoon of carols, live music, food trucks and a magical visit from Santa, all capped off with a stunning fireworks display.
This year, Nerang RSL is proud to fund the fireworks finale and provide additional support for essential event logistics. With last year’s event impacted by wet weather and reduced revenue, this funding ensures the 2025 celebration continues to bring joy, connection and festive cheer to the community.
It’s part of our ongoing commitment to supporting events and traditions that unite locals of all ages and backgrounds — because community spirit shines brightest when we celebrate together.

🔧 Bringing the Sizzle to Community Events
For over a decade, the Lions Club of Carrara has been lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed most — from supporting literacy in schools and providing Christmas cakes for the elderly to cooking BBQ lunches for local kids and donating care packs to women undergoing cancer treatment.
They’ve also played a quiet but powerful role in commemorations like the Bali Bombing Memorial, cooking up connection and community spirit year after year.
But when their only tow bar-equipped vehicle was taken off the road, their BBQ trailer — and the good work it enabled — came to a halt. That’s where Nerang RSL stepped in. This year’s funding helps the Club purchase a new tow bar so they can keep showing up for those who need it.

🦽Rolling Support for Local Recovery
The Australian Red Cross Nerang is aligned with the Red Cross’ proud 110-year history of delivering practical care and support – and brings that legacy to life right here in our local community.
From their Ferry Street base, 18 dedicated volunteers run a beloved op shop and medical hire service, helping locals access affordable clothing and vital medical equipment such as crutches and wheelchairs. These services not only assist with recovery at home but also ease pressure on hospitals and healthcare providers.
However, due to regular wear and tear (and the occasional missing return), wheelchair replacements are an ongoing challenge. In 2025, the team reached out to Nerang RSL for help — and we were proud to assist with funding for several new wheelchairs.
Our support ensures this essential service can continue supporting the wellbeing, dignity and independence of those who need it most.

🏉 Keeping the Game Moving Across the Coast
From school ovals to stadium fields, the Gold Coast Rugby League Referees Association (GCRLRA) is behind every kick-off, whistle and fair call. With over 250 games played each week and more than 5,000 players on the field, their team of referees is essential to the sport’s success across the region.
Nerang RSL is proud to continue its three-year partnership with GCRLRA into 2026 — supporting the training, development and equipment needs of this dedicated team. Our funding contributes to referee uniforms, on-field gear and ongoing education programs that help shape the next generation of elite officials.

💛💙 Playing With Heart, Leading With Purpose
Tucked behind CBUS Stadium in Robina, the Robina Raptors JRLFC may be small in size — but they’re big on values, community and the future of the game.
With over 150 members, including dedicated U12, U13, and U14 girls teams, the Raptors are creating an inclusive and family-first environment where young players can thrive. They’re committed to growing junior and female participation in rugby league — and to keeping player safety at the forefront.
After their storage shed was broken into during the off-season and vital first aid and defibrillator supplies were stolen, the Raptors reached out for support. Through the Nerang RSL Community Fund, we’ve helped replace these vital items — ensuring their players, coaches and volunteers have the safety resources they need.
Looking ahead, the Raptors also plans to train 30 of their teenage boys in CPR — equipping them with a life-saving skill that extends far beyond the field. They’re currently seeking additional sponsorship to bring that initiative to life.

🚣♀️ Rowing Toward Safer Shores with Tallebudgera SLSC
Tallebudgera Surf Life Saving Club continues to play a vital role in protecting our coastline — delivering essential patrol and rescue services while offering young Australians a sense of purpose, skills training and community.
Through this year’s Community Fund, Nerang RSL is proud to support the next generation of surf boat rowers with funding for a brand-new set of carbon fibre oars. These oars will be used by the Club’s growing surf boat section, with a strong focus on developing U19 and U23 competitors.
By investing in youth development, the Club is also building a clear pathway into senior surf lifesaving divisions — while ensuring participants complete their Bronze Medallion training and are qualified to patrol our local beaches.
From surf sports to surf safety, we’re proud to continue our support of Tallebudgera Surf Lifesaving Club and the life-changing work they do on the sand and in the surf.

🦈Building Skills, Confidence & Community
Parkwood Sharks Rugby League Club is kicking goals for the next generation — creating inclusive, supportive pathways for junior players and growing the game from the grassroots up.
With over 200 members and a strong family ethos, the Club approached Nerang RSL for help purchasing new footballs and equipment bags. These essentials might not make the headlines, but they’re critical for day-to-day development — ensuring young players have the tools they need to train hard, play safe and grow in confidence.
We’re proud to support this Gold Coast sporting staple once again in 2025.
And if you’re a local footy fan, there’s an easy way to show your support — Parkwood Sharks are part of our Helping Hand Initiative. Every Monday night, $5 from every main meal sold in Gallipoli is donated back to the Club. So grab a bite and back your team.
⚽Kicking Goals for Local Families
Nerang Soccer Club — proudly known as the Nerang Eagles — has long been a fixture of the local sporting landscape. Based at Recreation Drive in Nerang and home to around 400 members, the Club provides a safe, inclusive and family-friendly environment where players of all ages and abilities can thrive.
Nerang RSL has supported the Eagles for over 10 years and this year we continued our commitment to grassroots football, by backing their junior development program. Our latest funding is helping the Club purchase new playing strips, training gear, referees’ uniforms and support coach and referee accreditation.
These essential investments help keep participation affordable while building strong pathways for players and volunteers alike — ensuring soccer remains accessible, rewarding and community-driven.
