OUR STORY
SERVING THE NERANG COMMUNITY SINCE 1983
The Nerang Services Club was officially opened by Cr. William M. Laver, Chairman of the Albert Shire Council on 9th April 1983. Built by Mr Rudy Hecke and Architect Mr Craig Hope, the Nerang Services Club was managed at the time by Mr Bob Hannah. Upon opening, Mr Rod Dux (OAM) was President of both the Club and the Sub Branch and after years of tireless contribution to the local community, remains Patron of what is now Nerang RSL & Memorial Club Inc. Under Club President, Mr Terry McDonald and Sub Branch President, Mr Gordon Virtue, the clubhouse was redeveloped by Paynter Dixon and was reopened by Mr William M. Laver again on 22nd September 2000.
After another major redevelopment involving architects, EJE Architecture and builder Rohrig, the current Clubhouse was completed and opened by Cr. Donna Gates, Deputy Mayor of Gold Coast City Council on 9th December 2014. Situated at the gateway to the Hinterland, the Club managed by Mr Andrew McInnes now caters to the large and demographically diverse population of Nerang and it's surrounding suburbs.
Committed to giving back to the community, the Club participates in a broad range of assistance to schools, sporting clubs, charity groups and community events. Today the club offers three bars, a cafe, restaurant, gaming floor with 200 machines, a Functions & Events Centre, a bottle shop, five sporting intra clubs, Keno, TAB and many other facilities and services.
